Our standard home inspection is made up of three main components – the inspection itself, the walk-around and the report.
For the inspection, we look at a large number of areas in the home, including the:
- Crawlspace, Basement and/or Foundation
- HVAC (e.g. furnace, central air conditioning)
- Attic, Insulation & Ventilation
- Doors, Windows & Interior
For more detail on the standards of practice, please see the InterNACHI Standards of Practice. Please note that we generally inspect more or more thoroughly than the standards call for.
For the walk-around, we will meet with you and take you around the house at the end of the inspection and point out items of note, offer advice and answer questions.
The report will usually be completed and sent to you by the end of the day of the inspection and no later than 24 hours after the inspection. This quick turn-around ensures that you have the maximum time to negotiate any repairs before closing on the house.
Please note that radon testing is not included in the standard home inspection fee. We provide radon testing services for an additional charge. We strongly recommend having a radon test performed along with the home inspection, as almost all of Montana is in Radon Zone 1 – the area with the highest radon concentration in homes in the US. Please see our radon page for more information.
